Alice- book or movie?

Hello blog readers.

For a person who has been an Alice fanatic for over five years and the proud owner of nine different editions of the book, the movie had a lot to live up to. Believe me, I had my doubts. But anything directed by Tim Burton couldn't be that bad, right? Well, indeed I went to see it, and the verdict was:

I know that comment was normal teenager, and I truly apologize for not using my amazing writing skills to scrape together a decent sentence.

Best movie ever.

I know that most people liked it because of the Johnny Depp factor, but I assure you, I am not judging on that alone. The movie captured the world that Lewis Carroll painted through his book. As always, the book is far better than the movie, but it really wasn't fair because NOTHING can top Alice's adventures in Wonderland. I repeat; NOTHING. Overall, the book and the movie make a nice pair. And, if anything, this just means another copy for my collection.

PS Here is a photo of the only material thing I would rescue from a house fire.

  1. I absolutely love the Alice book as well, and have read it soooo many times (",) ... and I thought the movie was AWES0ME! Not just because of Johnny Depp (although he was niiice :D) ... but the bright colours and, omg, the Cheshire Cat! Everything was as perfect as it could be ... a movie will never live up to this particular book, since it's something best played out in the imagination, hehe, but the Alice movie did a pretty great job trying (",).

  2. I have yet to see the movie but loved the books as a child. The reviews on the movie are mixed. It seems there are those who loved and those who hated it. I am glad you enjoyed it. I will probably wait for the DVD, though I am looking forward to seeing Alan Rickman as the caterpillar.I just love him!

  3. I love the books and have since I was a little girl and could even begin to imagine falling down the rabbit hole to my own land of adventure! BTW, I hope they let you post again Izzy, you're doing a fantastic job and if you had not said something, I never would have known that you are a pre-teen, teen, or adult. You've got some quality writing there!

  4. I certainly enjoyed your opinion about the Alice book. And I am thrilled that you are collecting copies of the book. Would you mind if I did a little searching in a few used book stores to see what I might find for you? I did buy you a copy of the original Alice movie on my last trip to Walmart. I wonder when that beautiful movie was made. We will have to compare the two movies on our next visit. I am very interested to read your next book review. Good writing!!!!

  5. Thankyou, dear fans, for all the nice things you have peen posting about me. I am here to represent all that ever dreamt of falling down a rabbit hole. xx

p.s. iam3332, I would not mind at all.
