Welcome! Join us in a celebration of all things reading! Six friendly blatantly bookish ladies banter about any book related topic that tickles their fancy: fiction(all genres/ages), non-fiction (memoirs, fashion, food and more), Kindles, bargain books, reading nooks, bookish baubles and decor, libraries and bookstores, gifts, tea, adventures, flights of fancy and, of course, the quest for Mrs. Baja...

ReplyDeleteor up!!
ReplyDeleteMan I WANT that staircase!
ReplyDeleteCan't do that with a Kindle!
ReplyDeleteIndeed. There are sacrifices to be made for convenience. Beauty is often one of those sacrifices.
ReplyDeleteI love decorating books too.

ReplyDeleteAlthough I am fascinated by "rainbow" bookshelves, I could never do that with my own books! If I did, I'd never be able to find anything! And really, what would I do with series books, if they came in different colours?
I remember reading about one of those home makeover shows in which a designer declutters and improves a hapless--but hopeful--person's home. There was a book-loving homeowner who liked to buy hardbacks. The designer ended up discarding all the dust jackets and arranging the books by colour. LOL!!!
Since I didn't see the show myself, I don't know the homeowner's reaction, but the person who wrote about it swore he'd never let a designer loose in his library.
yikes... I might seriously think about suing if they didn't ask first, and I can't imagine a book lover giving anyone permission to do that. I'm astounded.
ReplyDeleteLove all the ideas! (some seem to be a little OCD, tho :) I intend to have a "library" soon -- nothing this fancy, but the thought of a little sanctuary is so appealing.
ReplyDeleteI have wanted these two decorating books for a few years now. I am always looking at ways to incorporate my collection of books into my home. I love the idea of walls of bookshelves, the stairs would be nice too.
ReplyDeleteKim: Ditto. I do appreciate other people sharing their neurosis with us in a constructive way so we don't have to express ours in that particular way.
ReplyDeleteSari:Aren't they beautiful. Crave crave.
