Book pretty. Wish list.

Words are nice,
but sometimes, what's called for is pretty and that needs no words:

wish list:

and just because we can all dream about heaven..
A Stairway, though they called it "Bibliophile Porn.
I sort of like it.

  1. I would take the book stairs...

  2. Love those stairs!! I absolutely would never make it up or down!!!

  3. Indeed. There are sacrifices to be made for convenience. Beauty is often one of those sacrifices.

  4. I love decorating books too.

Also, hope you are having a great holiday. Stop by my Blog for a chance to win some of my favorite things!

  5. +JMJ+

Although I am fascinated by "rainbow" bookshelves, I could never do that with my own books! If I did, I'd never be able to find anything! And really, what would I do with series books, if they came in different colours?

I remember reading about one of those home makeover shows in which a designer declutters and improves a hapless--but hopeful--person's home. There was a book-loving homeowner who liked to buy hardbacks. The designer ended up discarding all the dust jackets and arranging the books by colour. LOL!!!

Since I didn't see the show myself, I don't know the homeowner's reaction, but the person who wrote about it swore he'd never let a designer loose in his library.

  6. yikes... I might seriously think about suing if they didn't ask first, and I can't imagine a book lover giving anyone permission to do that. I'm astounded.

  7. Love all the ideas! (some seem to be a little OCD, tho :) I intend to have a "library" soon -- nothing this fancy, but the thought of a little sanctuary is so appealing.

  8. I have wanted these two decorating books for a few years now. I am always looking at ways to incorporate my collection of books into my home. I love the idea of walls of bookshelves, the stairs would be nice too.

  9. Kim: Ditto. I do appreciate other people sharing their neurosis with us in a constructive way so we don't have to express ours in that particular way.

    Sari:Aren't they beautiful. Crave crave.
